This is an amazing organization. Our university is a participant of the scholarship recipients. It is a scholarship that keeps on giving. In my 40+ years in the Financial aid industry, I have not seen many that keep on giving. I joined the organization last year because I was so impressed with AWE and wanted to see how I can help since our students are recipients. The students get access to all of AWE’s members’ expertise. We have women that provide financial literacy, public speaking lessons, internship opportunities, mentorship opportunities, etc. and we have had donors provide laptops in the past to the scholarship recipients. I am so amazed. We seriously take these young ladies under our wing and walk alongside them during their college journey. They stay in contact and provide updates on their progress. These young ladies want to make a difference in their communities and are working towards it. I am so proud to be a member of AWE.
Testimonials
I have known the founder of this organization, Vicki Tate, for several years and because I saw that she was a strong, committed, unwavering and responsible leader I became an AWE member. Vicki, her Board, and her members are passionate advocates for young women who yearn for a college education, but who may not be able to afford the high costs. I support several worthy organizations and what makes this one unique and wonderful is that (1) the funds stay local, given to girls who graduate from Palm Beach county high schools and who go to local colleges/universities and (2) you can meet the recipients and see exactly to whom the donations are going! Knowing we are making these girls’ dreams come true and preparing them as future leaders – our leaders – is money well spent. Membership in AWE has been truly rewarding and I encourage anyone interested in helping young women be all they can be to get involved with the organization in any way you can.
Reflecting on my first semester at college I can say it was both challenging and transformative and I am proud to have finished with a strong academic result. Living on the FAU campus was a huge step toward independence for me, the connections and experiences I’ve gained are life changing. I’ve been blessed with amazing roommates who I now see as lifelong friends.
I am proud to be a 1st generation college student. In high school I was nervous because of not having help at home with my academic life and parents who did not finish their education. FAU has truly made me feel like I have a family here who will pave the way to helping me succeed. This opportunity was made possible by the AWE scholarship.
My wife and I were looking for a way to give back by sponsoring young people in a way that would change their lives. Doing that ourselves and finding worthy recipients was challenging so we looked for help from Florida’s Children First, an organization I helped found. They introduced us to AWE which does exactly what we wanted to do in an efficient and effective manner.
Since becoming donors we have been delighted to read the stories of the effect AWE has had on the lives of so many. It is an effective and efficient organization which deserves its excellent reputation.
I am profoundly grateful for being awarded this scholarship. AWE’s generosity has lightened my financial burden, allowing me to focus more on my education and career goals. This support is not just a financial aid; it is a source of inspiration and motivation. Thank you for believing in my potential and empowering me to strive for excellence.
I was introduced to The Alliance of Women Executives (AWE) many years ago by a then-ambassador who invited me to one of their meetings. From the moment I walked into that room, I was struck by the organization’s overwhelming support and deeply moved by its mission: to provide young women graduating from local high schools with scholarship funds to attend the college of their choice.
It wasn’t long before I knew I had to be a part of this incredible initiative. I quickly became a member and soon accepted a position on the Board, where I’ve had the honor of serving with pride over the years. The work that AWE does is not only crucial in providing financial support to deserving young women, but it also plays a pivotal role in connecting its members with a diverse group of talented, ambitious individuals.
My involvement with AWE has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It has opened my eyes to the potential and promise of the next generation of women leaders—young women whom I may never have had the opportunity to meet if not for this organization. Through AWE, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education and mentorship, and I am continually inspired by the impact we are making together.
In a world where opportunities can often seem out of reach, AWE stands as a beacon of hope and support, ensuring that the next generation of women has the tools they need to succeed. I am proud to be a part of this mission and look forward to continuing this vital work for years to come.
