AWE began in 2016 with a simple belief: one scholarship has the power to change a life.
The idea for AWE was born during an Uber ride in New York City. Reflecting on the incredible women who had supported me through the passing of my father, I realized that many of them did not know one another. As a former recruiter who understands the power of strong networks, I imagined bringing these women together to create a community rooted in shared experiences, meaningful connections, and mutual support.
What started as one idea has grown into an organization that has awarded 177 scholarships to young women graduating from Palm Beach County high schools. Along the way, we’ve had the privilege of supporting students whose determination, resilience, and dreams continue to inspire us every day.
We know that being accepted to college is only part of the journey. Financial and technology barriers can stand between a student and her future. That’s why AWE provides scholarships, reliable technology, and additional resources that help students begin college with confidence.
Our commitment is exclusively to Palm Beach County. By partnering with local colleges and universities, we help students stay connected to their families and support systems while investing in the future of our community.
At its heart, AWE is about people, students who refuse to give up and a community of donors, sponsors, and supporters who believe in their potential.
