AWE awards scholarships and new laptops to young women graduating from high schools in Palm Beach County who continue their education locally at Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, Palm Beach Atlantic University or Palm Beach State College.
Scholarship checks are sent to the students college or university and deposited directly into the students account to be used for tuition, books and other educational expenses.
AWE has awarded 177 scholarships, including 75 first generation college students.
Many AWE scholarship recipients already have strong support from schools, faith communities, mentors and nonprofits. AWE complements these services by addressing financial and technology barriers that can affect a student’s ability to begin and succeed in college.
Our focus is exclusively Palm Beach County. Through scholarships, laptops and essential resources, we help local young women attend local colleges and universities while staying close to their support systems. This local-first approach strengthens families, supports our regional workforce and keeps talented young women in the community.
